You can find my huge K-doll, named RUDOLF, in front of @mcdonaldsbelgium at Justus Lipsiusplein. I gave him my typical "THIS GIRL" signature with a combination of abstract drip art and pop art ❤️

I am happy to contribute in this beautiful project for education to guide intelligent children with behaviour and emotional difficulties to their high school degree!

December 2015...there was "THIS GIRL" who was at home because of a total burn out. Not able to organise things in my head, total choas, high blood pressure and lots of anxiety.

She had been living a life that didn't match here sensitive, emotional, explosive, chaotic and colorful personality 🩷

This stagnation was necessary to go back to her nature, being a creative and energetic person.

♡

From this moment on, I started making Art to retrieve my energy...and it worked!

Slowly I started to grow and at one point I had to decide to go back to my work at KU Leuven or to jump and start a life as a self-employed. You can already guess what I did...🤗

It was a journey with lots of ups and downs (fits my personality ;)), difficult decisions, wonderful moments, but most of all...lots of new Energy and Freedom! 💛

Creativity kept flowing and never stopped flowing...I started to rely on my intuition more, spend more time in Nature, accepted my senses to be sensitive and often overwhelmed and started to translate it all in my Art. ❤️

So, here I am...almost 9 years later, working as a fulltime self-employed artist and able to pay the bills with my Art.

Don't be mistaken...artists are entrepreneurs too!

All of this would not have been possible without (very) hard work (mother of 3, sometimes combining 2 jobs, lots of networking, bookkeeping, marketing,...) and your endless support 🙏🌹

A couple of weeks ago, I received a special phone

A couple of weeks ago, I received a special phone call. If I could stop by to meet their mom who didn't have much time left in this life.

We arranged a meeting at her place with @katrienhendrix and @philippe_hendrix and one of the five grandchildren.

Their wish was to have made a custom made painting for each of the grandchildren which will last forever so each of them had a little part of their grandmother to keep in their hearts after she passed away.

Unfortunately two days later came the sad news that their mother passed away in the presence of her loved ones.

It might sound strange, but when I met this lovely lady, I absorbed the energy and vibes in the room. Trying to capture it all, so I could create five very personal paintings.

Because her favorite flowers were roses 🌹 we decided to have her fingerprint for every grandchild on a rose petal. ❤️ afterwards I incorporated it in the painting so it will last forever.

At the funeral it seemed that all the colors I used, were there in the flowers.

I was so grateful for this request, I created the paintings with all my heart. After finishing them, it felt like giving birth to something very special.

🖤 due to unforseen circumstances the Vernissage and exhibition @escape_art_gallery_brussels in Brussels was canceled.

THE GOOD NEWS IS....

❤️ on 8th November 2024 (Friday) the Vernissage will take place at my Home/Atelier in Holsbeek. Because of such a short notice, I decided to open up my house for you all 🤗

The address is Wingeweg 1a in 3220 Holsbeek.

My latest new dyptich made with mixed media by using a unique kind of drip art. Very important is to make different textures which I put seperately or intermingled in a condom...yes even when the date is expired 😜 Next choose which colours you want to correspond with each other and which ones have to stand out or dissapear to the background. Afterwards, use your own unique motion to create a "This Girl". Keep observing, studying and adjusting the painting...even tiny details...until the artist is satisfied ♡
